well we’re on the last little string of shows with brandi carlile (full re-cap to come), and i have to say that being home is going to be amazing. my parents went to my house today to set up my christmas tree for me. i’ll have to decorate it when i get home…on december 22nd. does it makes sense to decorate a tree so late in the year? i have no choice.
i’m not really in the christmas spirit this year. i guess it’s a combo of being completely exhausted from a busy year of work, and working right up until the holidays. i just haven’t been able to absorb the joy of the season…have only purchased a couple of the gifts i needed to purchase, didn’t send any cards, haven’t decorated a single thing… i’m just not in it. so not in it, in fact, that i honestly want NOTHING for christmas this year. this is really the year were actual things don’t matter. i just want my house, my family, and free time.
so the plan is to spend a couple of days in nashville with partner, then to head to alabama to celebrate the christmas holidays. and new years? well i’m driving to north carolina to adopt a beagle. with partner.
i’m happiest when i’m headed home. even though home is a bunch of different places. i’ll be there soon and it’s going to be perfect. decorations or no decorations.
