One thing we have done that I will always be proud of is our tour last December supporting our hero, Willie Nelson. In fact, exactly one year ago today, we were on that tour, being blown away every night listening to Willie and his band play so many well-known songs.
We got word this morning of the sudden death of Bee Spears, Willie Nelson’s bass player of 40 years. This news was tough for us, as Bee was the most welcoming, warm-hearted person on Willie’s crew. Though we had only just met him, he loved our sound and the songs we played, and he was so kind to us. I think he knew how intimidated we were to be on tour with such a huge name, and he always tried to ease our minds. The music world will miss you, Bee. Thanks for being so sweet to two girls who were (and still are) trying to figure out how to get through this crazy world of music. You were a light for us. We’re gonna miss you.
