ROLLING STONE DID A STORY ON THE SECRET SISTERS!... →
i want to share this.
this was a conversation between a little old man and me when i was at work yesterday. he came up to my register to pay for his groceries. he had a few cans of food, bread, ham, and cheese. and this is how the conversation went...
him: i'm having to learn how to cook now.
me: oh really?
him: yeah. my wife has alzheimer's disease. i've had to learn how to do it all. i had to learn how to put her makeup on for her, fix her hair, and now i'm learning to cook. she's just getting to where she can't do it anymore.
me: oh i'm so sorry. that must be tough.
him: yeah it's difficult, but i'm dealing with it. when you love someone you do everything you can to make them happy. and at least God is on my side.
me: yep, that's exactly right.
him: as long as i've got him i don't have anything to worry about. i know we're gonna be ok.
it took everything i had not to burst into tears at that point.
